Coalescence of the two veins
Very thin sophisticated surgical instruments (metal strings, tube "catheters", pressure balls, etc.) are transmitted to the liver through a tubule inserted in the blood vessels. The surgeon's task is to attach the two venous vessels inside the liver (portal vein and hepatic vein) in such a way that the high-pressure blood in the portal vein could flow into the low-pressure blood in the hepatic vein. Coalescence of the both veins is implemented by means of implanting a metal tube (a stent). The stent diameter equals to 9-10 mm. It is implanted into the patient's liver for the life term.
